The on-screen controls never skip or lag. Oddmar is a phenomenal adventure game in which players get to fill in the shoes of Oddmar, a Viking whos on a quest to prove himself worthy after being. Which speaks volumes to the designing behind the Oddmar. I'm more comfortable with a game controller, and when it comes to skills-based platform games like this, it's just a bit awkward for me. That's partly to do with my own inadequacies at playing mobile games using touchscreen controls. Once I was playing with something more akin to a traditional grip controller, I was much more at ease and could play with better timing. Thank goodness Oddmar supports MFi controllers. You can also trigger a fast downward slam by swiping down.īy the time I was playing the "boss" level in the first world, the fifth level of the game, I had to switch over to using an MFi controller. The game isn’t exactly an open-world title like Valheim is, but it offers a similar, survival oriented experience. However, here you’re stuck in Niffelheim. Niffelheim not only sounds similar to Valheim, it’s also the story of a Viking soldier killed in battle. The right side is for jumping and attacking. Check out Don’t Starve Together ( 14.99) 2. You move Oddmar by swiping to the left or right on the left side of the screen. I can see why they're designed the way they are, and they work perfectly (which is very important for a game that requires precision timing), but they felt just a bit backward, to me. The on-screen controls leave a little to be desired.
